Back Soon

| | Comments (16)

OK so the nice people over at MMShare sent me an e-mail to me today after noticing the hits from the site, and finally an e-mail that wasn't nasty :) They offered their help with my download problem which means no more bandwidth problems for us!!! What do you know, their are still heroes that come to the rescue out there ;-)

I'll post more info soon and more importantly will get back to posting daily soon now that I have the bandwidth, but a quick note. You do NOT have to register to use their service!!!!. They do a nice little box in the bottom, you type in the code and wait however many seconds it says and then click download. It is free, and honestly one of the nicer systems I've come across. Make sure you have Javascript enabled on your browser and you will have no issues.

Edit: I get this isn't the ideal solution and if I could have my way I would continue the direct downloads from here, but the reality of the situation is I can't do that, so until Donald Trump decides to finance us we have to take the help that we are offered and these guys seem to be pretty decent. If you're having problems with their service drop them an email at tempcontact@mmshare.co.uk. I'm sure that they'll do their best to help you out.

Sounds like a plan. That was quick

I'm still getting the "The download got the max IPs!" message whenever I try to download the Balcony clip as of 1335 PST so apparently they haven't quite resolved the problem just yet.

But nice to see that they were so prompt in getting back to you...

Well it looks like i'll have to quit coming to this site i'm really wary about the rapidshare type sites which thats what this site sounds like so i'll not be downloading from here anymore:( but thanx rob this site has been one of the best i've ever been on and i'll continue to spread the word

D, i was geting a similar problem earlier on, it seems to have sorted itself out i don't know if they fixed somethin their end, but i did give it a bit of ctrl + F5 (refresh from site, not local cache) action lol , seemed to work .

Fairwell: tbh i don't see the problem with using a file hosting site, it solves the bandwidth problem and waiting, what, 15secs for a file is nothing really is it. The fact that the site offered to help rob out i think makes this site far from a typical 'rapidshare type site'.

Anyway enough of my ranting cheers for the uploads rob and continue with the good work.

Hey Rob!
You do what you need to do to keep the site up an running! The new one isn't as bad as rapidshare, and they seem like they are a friendly enough bunch!

Yes, I have been to that site before, and yes I have java enabled and running but still have a non-responsive "loop" problem. But, I guess that I'm one of the minority. Thus, do what you have to do to keep cost down. I'm still one of your fans and will spread the good word. Cheerio, mate!

I don't know how much you upload/store every month or what your budget is, but have you considered Amazon S3? It's fast, reliable and cheap. And, you can let users perform direct downloads without this enter-a-code stuff.

Sounds good Rob. Do what you've gotta do. Not sure why people are "weary" about file storage sites??!?!??!? Is there a lot of people who have anxiety here? Sorry, I just don't get it. You go there, you download it's done...stop being so paranoid people! I understand the people saying that it doesn't work for them, but not the people who are afraid of these websites.

Keep up the great work Rob! Plus moving it to there should weed out the whiners (another plus)

Okay someone explain to me what your problems are with Rapidshare? Instead of statements like "it's crap" "I don't like it"

I like rapidshare because I can download fast off their site, some of the solutions out there I only get half my download speed from.

Or is it because some of you don't want to stick your hands in your pockets and pay the small amount needed to have a rapidshare premium account?

Maybe once in a while if some of you guys actually let the blood flow back to your brains instead of flowing to your dicks 24/7, then you'd figure it out.
