What does RobOnt stand for?
A long time ago when the internet was young I used to hang around a chat room, back then I was the only Rob until one day another Rob showed up.... *gasp* In order to differentiate myself I added Ont for Ontario to the end of it... Terribly boring shit huh?
Why do you have to use mmshare? Why can't you just host the files yourself?Look it's really fucking easy, the answer is economics. The public site is free, there are ads but they barely cover the cost of bandwidth. MMShare helps by offloading some of the bandwidth to their servers. We've tried a bunch of different sites including Rapidshare and even trying Torrents, but they all have their own problems associated with them and MMShare has been the easiest and best way to go.Don't like it? Then join the members site, they got their own fast direct download server, otherwise realize you are getting this for free and stfu about it. Unless you wanna sponsor the site so that I can get more bandwidth, THEN we can talk ;-)
What's the story with the members site?I realized the speed thing was a problem, the thing is as I add bandwidth it gets chewed up pretty well right away, soooo I tried adding a members site for people that wanted a faster connection. It's pretty well the same thing just faster, there is some additional content (that can't be posted publicly for whatever reason) as well... So basically it's a site for the RobOnt faithful that don't mind paying for it.
What's the username/password?!?!?!?If you are reading this thank you for taking the time to first of all, I was using some hotlink protection scripts that caused problems for people so I switched to a username/password combo to keep it simple. On the right hand side of your screen under navigation is an explanation of where to find it.
I can't play the videos/the site doesn't work for me, help!No... Look here's the thing, the site is designed to work for the vast majority of users. If you have a reasonably recent computer with a reasonably up to date OS and browser it's gonna work for you. I'm NOT gonna support users that are still using Windows 98. I do this as a hobby, but I have a life outside of this, I don't have the time to teach you about RAR archives or how to play DIVX files etc, sorry that's just the way it's gotta be so I don't end up divorced and insane. This site is meant for people who have a basic understanding of how shit on the internet works, if you don't then go back and do some of that fancy learning stuff and then come back.
